Week 7 - The Picks are Back and Better (Worse) Than Ever!

Hi, five people who read these picks! Sorry about last week. I decided to have a life for once and was actually too busy to do my picks, but apparently the NFL carried on just fine without me. I'm a little insulted, but that's life.

Also, I read the SI excerpt from Bill Parcells' new book, and it goes into detail about how when the Jets offered Bill Belichick their job, he was basically all for it...until he wasn't. Well, screw him and screw Bob Kraft forever. Scumbags.

See? He's evil.

Anyway, enough of that. I enjoyed the hell out of some college football this weekend, and with that firmly on my mind, let's get to the picks!

Thursday 10/16

New York Jets at New England

Well, it was closer than I expected. The Jets are like the in-conference team that isn't any good, but always at least gives its top-25 hated rival a game whenever they play them. Goddamned Patriots. I had:

Pats 24
Jets 13

Sunday 10/19

Atlanta at Baltimore

I don't believe in Atlanta at all, and I barely believe in Baltimore. Speaking of Baltimore, the University of Maryland has horrible football uniforms. The team might be decent and they are definitely well coached, but, barf.

Ravens 31
Falcons 24

Tennessee at Washington

Jake Locker is iffy with injury concerns. THAT'S SURPRISING NEWS. Speaking of his alma mater, the Washington Huskies, they looked overmatched against the (for once) nattily-attired Oregon Ducks yesterday. That's a hot Pac 12 take right there.

Washington 30
Titans 24

Seattle at St. Louis

Seattle - WAKE UP! Also, bye bye, St. Louis Cardinals. Go away forever. The Royals are the Missouri-based team that America loves now.

Seahawks 27
Rams 20

Cleveland at Jacksonville

How 'bout them Browns! No, seriously! No longer are THE Ohio State Buckeyes the best team in Ohio. Speaking of them, MAN, did they smoke Rutgers yesterday. Not that I enjoyed it or anything.

:)

Browns 28
Jaguars 17

Cincinnati at Indianapolis

Bengals = frauds. Also, something something University of Indiana football.

Colts 27
Bengals 24

Minnesota at Buffalo

Uh...Bills? I don't know. Speaking of football teams from New York state, HOW 'BOUT THEM SYRACUSE ORANGEMEN? Nah, just kidding, Wake Forest sucks. But it was nice to get a win and stop the damned bleeding for a week.

Bills 20
Vikings 17

Miami at Chicago

Two teams that are complete mysteries to me. But I'll go with the Bears because the Midwest is due for a win over a team from Florida after last night's heartbreaking loss by Notre Dame against FSU. Damn, that was a great game, though.

Bears 34
Dolphins 24

New Orleans at Detroit

Saints on the road, Saints on the road! And they're finally not messing around with Calvin Johnson, so he'll just be sitting outright. I think that actually works in Detroit's favor. Sorry, Saints fans - LSU's thrashing of Kentucky yesterday will have to satisfy your football appetite this weekend.

Lions 28
Saints 24

Carolina at Green Bay

I like the Packers at home, so they can sing that stupid "Go Pack Go" song all day. Also, remember that time Syracuse kicked the crap out of Wisconsin in the kickoff classic in 1997? Yeah, me too - that was awesome.

Packers 31
Panthers 20

Kansas City at San Diego

Missouri annihilated Florida last night. Will another Missouri team roll on Sunday? No.

Chargers 34
Chiefs 24

Arizona at Oakland

If it weren't for the Raiders, the Jets would be the worst team in the NFL. Thanks Raiders! Oh, and Stanford sucks.

Cardinals 21
Raiders 18

New York Giants at Dallas

Gonna take the G-men here, because it always makes me nervous when everyone starts picking Dallas to win and the Giants are due for a bounceback game and...

AW HELL HOW 'BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!???

Cowboys 31
Giants 27

San Francisco at Denver

Well, it's the regular season, so Peyton will be awesome #backhandcompliment.

Also, WHOOOO! Colorado State! The Rams are 6-1 and bowl eligible already, so I'm definitely enjoying that bandwagon-through-marriage right now. Go Rams!

Broncos 38
49ers 28

Monday 10/20

Houston at Pittsburgh

I'll take Houston, because Pittsburgh is kinda below average this year and the Texans NEED this one. However, Heinz Field did see a nice win on Thursday night with a surprise victory over Va Tech, so you've got that going for you, Steel City!

Texans 27
Steelers 24

Last week (week 5): 11-4
Season: 44-32
