Week 11 - the NFL rollercoaster rattles on

Oof, another terrible week of picks for yours truly. It should become more apparent with each passing day why I don't bet money on sporting events. It's for my own financial well-being, trust me. That said, thank god the Colts pulled out that Thursday night game for me, because I'm sick of starting off each week 0-1. Onto the rest of the picks!

Thursday 11/14

Indianapolis at Tennessee

I picked the Colts in this one, and they BARELY came through for me. But they did. I thought they'd win pretty easily because, Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the HAAAAAAAAAHVAD guy played pretty well. So, I was wrong about that too, but I did pick the winner. So there.

I had:

Colts 31
Titans 14

Sunday 11/17

New York Jets at Buffalo

Oh, Jets. This seems like the Jets COULD win, and probably SHOULD win, but Buffalo plays everyone tough, and they're at home, and I don't feel good about this game at all. Because if the Jets win they'll be 6-4 and in the driver's seat for the last playoff spot and if there's ever been a franchise that can't handle prosperity, it's the fightin' Joe Namaths. I'll take the Bills in a classic cowardly reverse-jinx homer move.

Bills 20
Jets 17

Atlanta at Tampa Bay

God, both of these teams suck. What the hell happened to Atlanta? I'll take the Bucs at home even though I don't want to, simply because Atlanta is a complete train wreck this season and the Bucs are coming off of their first win (granted, it was over a Dolphins team in complete disarray, but still).

Bucs 17
Falcons 14

Detroit at Pittsburgh

Pffffffft....Lions? Sure.

Lions 28
Steelers 20

Atlanta at Jacksonville

Hey, good on ya Jags, you got your first win! You might get another, but I think the Cardinals will do just enough to beat you in your building today. I don't love this pick, but the Cardinals have a lot to play for so let's just go with that.

Cardinals 27
Jags 24

Oakland at Houston

This would have been a great game in the old AFL, but this is a terrible game right now. Terrelle Pryor is out and the Texans suck, so this will be a pillow fight of epic proportions. I'll take the Texans at home, simply because the Raiders' other quarterbacks have all been awful this year. Sorry, Kirk.

Texans 27
Raiders 17

Baltimore at Chicago

I'm going to pick the Bears because as a Jets fan I NEED the Bears to win. Also, McCown has looked pretty good for the Bears in relief of the banged-up Jay Cutler, and the Ravens defense is like the old gray mare - she aint what she used to be (I'll see myself out). Also, what the hell happened to Ray Rice? He hit that "old running back" wall head first.

Bears 24
Ravens 20

Cleveland at Cincinnati

I hate picking divisional games, especially the Battle of Ohio. The Bengals seem like the better pick, but the Browns have been tough. I'll take the Bengals only because they're at home, but I don't love it.

Bengals 34
Browns 27

San Diego at Miami

Whenever these two teams play, I'm reminded of their epic 1981 overtime playoff game, aka the first NFL game I remember watching. I remember liking the Dolphins uniforms at the time and telling my dad that, but he stared at five-year-old me and intoned in his all-knowing fatherly voice of god, "No Brian, we never root for that team." Understood, Dad...understood. And I never have.

Chargers 31
Dolphins 17

Green Bay at New York Giants

The Giants are going to win that shitty division at 7-9, aren't they?

Giants 30
Packers 20

Minnesota at Seattle

I picked against you last week, Seattle, and I'll never do it again.

Seahawks 28
Vikings 17

San Francisco at New Orleans

Guess what! Colin Kapernick sucks.

Saints 31
49ers 24

Kansas City at Denver

I'll take Denver here today, but if this were the playoffs, I'd take Kansas City. I just don't think Kansas City can score enough to keep up with the Broncos, but if the banged up Peyton Manning and co. struggle, well, that wouldn't exactly surprise me either. I think it'll be fairly low-scoring.

Broncos 24
Chiefs 21

Monday 11/18

New England at Carolina

Ooh, good one! I hope the Panthers smack Tom Brady around like a rag doll.

Panthers 24
Patriots 23

Last week: 7-7
Season: 89-58
